With these new foam inserts you can make your aged goggles feel like a brand new pair for a tenth of the price!

When it comes to paintball you need really good, quality, comfortable goggles, and there’s no point skimping. If they don’t fit properly, mist up or are itchy it will just make each of your games of paintball unpleasant. People often over look this and shell out hundreds for the latest paintball markers and paintball hoppers without taking their paintball goggles seriously. This is a mistake that you really shouldn’t make, and it’s often worth having a spare pair of these foam kits with you in your bag just in case.

The pack comes with a top and bottom foam piece. some adhesive so you can stick the foam pieces to your goggles and some sandpaper to alter the foam so you can get a perfect fit around your face!

To attach the foam to your existing Empire Event goggles or Empire Avatar goggles you simply need to just remove the old foam, give the paintball goggles a bit of a clean to get the adhesive off, attach the new foam pieces in place as a replacement then give them a bit of a sanding to take off the rough edges and make sure they fit the contours of your face comfortably! Dead easy, anyone can do it, and if you really do make a mistake, they are so cheap you can just buy another set!

A lot of people like to customise their paintball markers with new internals, a common choice is the A1 range of Magno Internals.

A1 produce several different items in their Magno range, including replacement valves and exhaust systems.

The Magno valve ram assembly pack is light weight and fits all Angel 1′s. For best results it should be used in conjunction with the Angel Fly Magno Exhaust Valve Assembly Pack. It will give increased efficiency, lower pressure operation, and reduced recoil, it offers exceptionally high performance.

The A1 Fly Magno exhaust valve stem pack is A1′s custom valve system for their guns, it works best with the Magno valve ram, it is their magnetic return exhaust valve and is amazing.

You can buy Magno internals together in 1 kit with a D/Lite system which works well with the Magno Valve Ram Assembly Pack. The Magno valve is patented and is very new paintball technology and is changing the field of play for everyone! Designed to do away with the old fashioned spring systems seen in almost every other marker on the market, this magnetic valve instead uses the principle of polar repulsion to close the valve giving ultimate consistency with every single shot fired! Due to snap closing the mechanical valve without touching any of the moving parts the Magno valve gives a much increased gas efficiency with every shot taken, so your shots are not just more accurate, but your gas will last longer! It also reduces the operating pressures of the gun, so the hardware will last a lot longer. There is also far less recoil with this system, allowing more accurate shots.
The Magno valve represents massive developments in paintball valve technology and maintains the Angel’s enviable reputation for being the most advanced paintball marker on the planet offering the highest quality at the best prices!

Paintball markers can use N2 or high pressure air for their propellant, to attempt to offset problems found with other types of paintball propellant such as CO2. When N2 (nitrogen) or HPA (high pressure air) is compressed, unlike CO2 it will still remain as a gas. As it expands, it also cools the tank, but at a far lower rate than liquid CO2 since it does not have to change from liquid to gas. The lack of this transition improves the accuracy of the market due to the reduction in the variation in pressure associated with rapid successions of firing cycles.

HPA allows players to fill the air system from a conventional scuba tank. HPA tanks are filled from a nipple instead of the ASA valve, and so they can be filled while still connected to the marker.

Because these propellants are stored at much higher pressures than liquid CO2, tanks for nitrogen or HPA are much more expensive and heavier. The tanks themselves can either be filled with pure N2 or compressed air, which is 79% N2.

CO2 is one of several propellants used in paintball. Because CO2 is a liquid when compressed, it must expand to a gas in order to be used by most paintball markers. This expansion is not adiabatic and requires energy, causing the tank to cool as heat is used to expand the liquid CO2 into gas. Eventually, under sustained fire, and especially in cold weather, the tank can become so cold that ice crystals form on it.

Most high-end markers recommend that you use HPA. Technically, CO2 and HPA can propel the paintball, but when high rates of fire are attained, liquid is sucked into the marker which can damage or even destroy electrical components inside the marker such as the solenoid.

If the CO2 bottle is shaken while firing, or does not have an anti-siphon tube fitted, the liquid CO2 could enter the marker. This liquid CO2 will then pass through the marker instead of the tank, evaporating and causing the marker to freeze. This will result in clouds of CO2 vapor being ejected from the marker whilst firing, due to the liquid CO2 evaporating in or around the barrel. This is called “drawing liquid” and can cause damage to internal seals and O-Rings, and can “freeze” some markers, putting the marker out of commission until it warms back up.

Simple operation designs such as in-line blow-back, guns designed before HPA was more widely used, or guns using 12-gram CO2 powerlets are usually not affected by this problem, but it can still cause damage to the marker over time.

During rapid firing, all the gaseous CO2 can be used up. Liquid CO2 will then take some time in order to evaporate and rebuild the internal pressure. This process can cause large changes in muzzle velocity and in accuracy and range.

With normal back-bottle setups, the less dense gaseous CO2 will rise to the top half of the tank. Normally, tanks are angled slightly so the gaseous CO2 is always available at the valve of the tank. Special devices known as anti-siphon tubes extend the mouth of the valve, and provide only CO2 from the top part of the tank.

You should never leave a CO2 container in sunlight, the ambient heat from the Sun will force the gas to expand in the tank to a dangerous level. All tanks should include safety valves in their construction to prevent this, but there is no need to use them or take unnecessary risks, it is always better to be careful.

In the past if players wanted a realistic sports based military simulation, airsoft with it’s custom made replica military BB guns would have to be used, but now military replica paintball markers are available.

MilSim markers can be some what problematic, as they can be confused with legitimate real firearms. This can result in very hazardous situations as law enforcement will have a lot of difficulty differentiating between real-life weapons and MilSim markers.

They include the U.S. Army developed Alpha Black (which resemble an M16), the Tippmann X7, RAP4′s T68 Paintball Markers (Which resemble the M4 Carbine, is magazine fed and has an internal CO2 or Air tank), or the Smart Parts SP8 (based upon the German Heckler and Koch Prototype XM8).

High-end MilSim markers are designed to be more rugged than high-end speedball markers, but are heavier and tend to operate at slower rates of fire. MilSim markers are used almost exclusively in Woodsball and military scenario games, though with a few modifications the markers can be competitive in the speedball arena. They often feature camouflage or black colour schemes instead of the typical bright colours typical markers are available in, since stealth is of more value in the woodland environments.

MilSim markers may use hoppers, or magazines similar to real automatic weapons. Many come with a shoulder stock and use a coiled remote line connected to a tank of propellant usually carried on the players back, in order to follow the MilSim look and to lighten the marker up and make it more maneuverable.

A paintball marker is the main piece of equipment used in paintball to tag an opposing player. An expanding gas (usually carbon dioxide or high-pressure air) forces a paintball through the barrel of the market at a muzzle velocity of roughly 300 feet per second (90m/s or approximately 205 mph). This speed is sufficient for most paintballs to break upon impact with an opposing player at a reasonable distance, but not too fast as to cause tissue damage beyond mild bruising. The technology used to design and build markers has advanced over time, beginning with the original bolt-action pistols, progressing then to pump-action markers, advancing to semi-automatic mechanical markers, and finally resulting in the currant range of electropneumatic paintball marker.

Nearly every commercial field has, and strictly enforces, a rule limiting the muzzle velocity of a paintball at or below 300 feet per second. Airsoft games have a similar rule.

There are a many different types of mechanical trigger design, the most common being the “blow-back” marker, which utilizes a spring-loaded ram released by the sear to open a pin valve; this then releases a pressurised gas through the valve which is directed through the bolt to fire the marker, and also push the ram back in place where it is caught again by the sear, resetting the action for the next shot. With the latest mechanical designs, the trigger affects a sear, which is holding a hammer, ram, or sealed gas chamber in its resting state. When the trigger is pulled, it releases the sear, allowing the marker’s firing action to cycle.

Electronic trigger frames, with a solenoid-controlled sear, can be fit to most mechanical “blow-back” designs, but electropneumatic markers are more evolved to more fully incorporate the electronic control elements into the design, and generally fall into two categories. “Poppet-valve” markers are very similar in concept to blow-back designs, but instead of using a spring, the ram is pushed into the pin valve by air directed through the solenoid valve. This allows the ram to be lighter, reducing the weight and the jarring motion of the marker as it cycles. “Spool-valve” markers use the bolt to seal a “dump chamber” containing a charge of pressurized gas. The solenoid controls the flow of additional gas in front of or behind the bolt that allow the bolt to move forward, releasing the pressure in the dump chamber to launch the ball. These designs were initially very expensive, and used only at high-level tournament play. But now with commercialisation and as these designs are refined and simplified, the cost to manufacture them has massively reduced, and now beginning with the Smart Parts Ion, manufacturers began designing entry-level markers that have either fewer programming features or simpler, less efficient designs, but have retained the much lower pressure, lighter weight and high cycle rates of fire.

In electropneumatic designs, the trigger, instead of being mechanically linked to the action of the marker, simply activates an electronic microswitch (or more recently, a magnetic or optical sensor). That information is passed through control circuitry to a computer-controlled solenoid valve which can open and close very quickly and precisely, allowing gas to move into or out of various pressure chambers in the marker to move the bolt and fire the paintball. This disconnect of the trigger from the action allows electronic trigger pulls to be very short in length and very lightweight, which dramatically increases rate-of-fire over a fully mechanical design. Solenoid-controlled gas valve designs also allow for reduced weight of internal parts, which both lightens overall weight and reduces the time it takes for the marker to cycle through firing a single paintball.

Stock-class games and competitions require the use of pump markers, and also often limit the types and capacities of propellant sources and loading mechanisms that players may use. With the decreased rate of fire and carrying capacity, increased need for reloads of both paintballs and propellant, and the generally quieter report of these markers, stock-class play places more emphasis on accuracy, stealth, and tactics. Contrasting this move toward high rates of fire, there is also a strong following of stock-class paintball games, where players use older, purely mechanical pump-action marker designs to purposefully limit rate of fire. Pump markers require the player to recock the marker, using a pump handle similar to a pump-action shotgun, before each shot.
